Dr. Jorgensen is a board certified, orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement procedures, including total knee and hip replacement surgery, sports medicine, including sports and exercise-related injuries, shoulder injuries and instability and knee injuries.
He completed his undergraduate education in Psychology at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania where he was an Academic All-American Wrestler and an All-Conference Football Player. He received a Medical Degree from Brown University and completed an internship and orthopaedic residency at the University of South Alabama.
Prior to becoming an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Jorgensen was a school administrator for Youth Services International that lends guidance to gang-oriented and juvenile offenders. He also enjoyed being a small business owner in Clarinda, Iowa. Dr Jorgensen’s interests took him to orthopaedic medicine where he continues to enjoy working with our youth covering sporting events and providing athletic screenings for high school and college athletes and is the team physician for the Tattnall Square Academy Trojans. He has acted as a team physician for the University of South Alabama football team and as event physician for a mixed martial arts competitions in Ocean Beach, Alabama.
Dr. Jorgensen has authored multiple research studies presented at the American College of Sports Medicine, The Clinical Orthopaedic Society and The Colorado Orthopaedic Society.
Dr. Jorgensen is married with four children and enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, golf and team sports.
