Dr. Hopkins is a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon and Board Certified in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. A Griffin, Georgia native, Dr. Hopkins is very involved in his community and many state organizations. His special interests are in sports injuries, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, ACL reconstruction (primary and revision), shoulder instability and rotator cuff pathology, total joint replacement (knee, hip, and shoulder), and fracture care.
Dr. Hopkins served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon and later as an orthopaedic surgeon caring for our airmen and their dependants. He currently serves as Chair of the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. Dr. Hopkins is a board member of MAG Mutual Insurance Company and United Bank Corporation.
Dr. Hopkins has authored multiple medical journal articles and enjoys speaking to groups about orthopaedic issues.
