Donna Malcom CWCP
Donna is a Workers’ Compensation Coordinator at OrthoGeorgia. She is certified as a Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP) by the Georgia State Board Workers’ Compensation. Donna has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and Workers’ Compensation working for a large manufacturing firm with over 1000 employees. She also has experience working as an Administrative Assistant in a large cardiovascular medical practice. Donna is married with 2 sons and 1 daughter, a wonderful daughter-in-law and a precious grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family and the beach. Donna is a graduate of Jones County High School and is a current member of the Jones County High School Booster Club.

Research in Orthopaedics
The technological revolution in Orthopaedics is in full swing. What is best and fastest today will soon be ancient history tomorrow; the physicians at OrthoGeorgia recognize this need and deeply believe in offering the most advanced Orthopaedic treatments to their patients. Although sophisticated orthopaedic technology is already available, advances in the development of new technologies have extended to biologics, pharmacotherapeutics, and prosthetic devices. As a result of participating in clinical trials, the physicians at OrthoGeorgia have the opportunity to evaluate their findings andtranslate that information to benefit all of their patients.
OrthoGeorgia is fortunate to have Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeons that are interested in the latest innovations in total joint replacement techniques. The high interest in improving the services offered to our patients, OrthoGeorgia was first in the Central Georgia region to provide partial knee resurfacing for early to mid stage osteoarthritis powered by a Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopaedic System (RIO). This robotic assisted knee surgery (MAKOplasty) provides the surgeon with real-time visual, tactile, and auditory feedback to facilitate optimal joint resurfacing and pinpoint implant positioning.This pinpoint placement results in a more (natural knee motion) following surgery and the RIO system offers less down time, shorter rehabilitation, and is less invasive than the traditional Total Knee Replacement approach.
OrthoGeorgia is proactively involved in current research in orthopaedics. The clinical data extracted from these studies will be presented at scientific meetings across the US and submitted to peer review journals for publication.The future of orthopaedic clinical research is promising and the Physicians at OrthoGeorgia are honored to participate. New surgical approaches, devices, and more accurate/rapid diagnostic techniques will be devised in the future.
