Karen Higgins, OTC
Karen is a Central Georgia native and became interested in a career in Orthopedic Technology after injuring her knee in an athletic competition in high school. She entered Central Georgia Tech College where she completed an Associates Degree in Applied Science & Technology and met the certification requirements for the National Association of Orthopaedic Technologist’s (NAOT). Karen serves as a clinical instructor for the accredited Orthopaedic Technology Program at Central Georgia Tech where she instructs new students in the art & science of casting and bracing.
Karen has served as the Event Coordinator for the Central Georgia Special Olympics and is past President of the Central Georgia chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA)where she led that organization to several ribbons in competition. Karen is married and enjoys spending time with family, kayaking, riding ATV’s, reading, traveling, and fishing.
