Dr. Johnson, a native Maconite, earned his undergraduate degree at Emory University and his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He received training in orthopaedic surgery at Georgia Baptist Hospital and the Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. He joined the United States Air Force in 1972, serving as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina.
