Dr. Gilbert completed her undergraduate education at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and followed with a Masters degree in Medical Science from Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Gilbert returned to Louisiana where she received a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Gilbert is an Interventional Physiatrist that has a particular interest in orthopaedics and sports medicine and specializes in pain management, electro-diagnostic evaluation, and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders, interventional spinal injections and physical therapy.
Dr. Gilbert is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has presented at a number of professional medical gatherings.

Her outside interests include sports, music, watching movies, traveling, and participating in the nationwide Big Sister Program.  She is a tireless volunteer for charities that support underprivileged children with disabilities.
