REHABILITATION

OrthoGeorgia rehabilitation specializes in the evaluation and treatment of orthopaedic and sports medicine conditions and injuries. Our commitment is to provide high quality, progressive, and educational services to our patients with effective outcomes. All of the rehab staff communicates closely and often with the physicians to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care. Services are provided in our state of the art facility and encompass a personalized and comprehensive approach to patient care. Our specialized programs include physical therapy and sports medicine, occupational therapy, and industrial medicine therapy.

Physical Therapy

The physical therapy department is staffed by licensed physical therapist certified/licensed athletic trainers, and licensed physical therapist assistants.  Our staff is highly trained in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. We work closely with the physicians to devise a program to restore strength, motion, flexibility and reduce pain as quickly as possible to assist you in returning to your previous capabilities. Our goal is to provide patient focused quality of care while delivering excellent customer service.

Occupational Therapy

The occupational therapy department is staffed by licensed occupational therapists that have an added certification for problems affecting the hand and upper extremity.

Through close collaboration with the physician, patient and family, individualized programs are provided so the patient may return to optimal function in a timely manner. Commonly treated diagnosis of the upper extremity include fractures, rotator cuff injuries, adhesive capsulitis, tendon and nerve injuries, amputations, trauma injuries as well as wound care, scar management, and custom orthotics for the hand and upper extremity.

The industrial component of our rehabilitation services seeks to return the injured worker to the workplace safely and competently. Through close contact with case managers and employers, specific needs of the injured worker are determined. Individualized work conditioning and work simulation programs enable the worker to rebuild skills and confidence necessary to return to the work environment. Functional capacity evaluations help to determine the extent and nature of work skills, limitations or work restrictions.
