ELECTRODIAGNOSTIC STUDIES

EMG/NCS

Our Physiatrist at OrthoGeorgia Spine Center of Excellence performs

Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS).

Electrodiagnostic studies are two studies that are essential to accurately diagnosing neck and back conditions.  EMG and NCS study the electrical activity of the muscles and nerves of the body in order to pinpoint exactly where the injury is, and which nerves are involved, including the spine level.  These studies help your physician develop a specific plan of attack to treat your specific injury utilizing non-invasive, invasive, and rehabilitation techniques. These studies can be done together or separately, and they are done right here at OrthoGeorgia.  Having the ability to do these studies in-house allows direct physician-to- physician communication, faster results, and saves our patients from having to go to another medical facility where they may not know the personnel. OrthoGeorgia endeavors to provide our patients every orthopaedic service combined with commitment, excellence, and compassion patients need to help them get better.
