Mariam Bailey began her journey with then, (Macon Orthopaedic & Hand Center) now OrthoGeorgia, in 1973. She worked as a medical assistant, side by side with Dr Waldo Floyd Jr., a time when medical assistants did it all and the medical profession was in a different place. As the medical sub-specialties evolved in this medical practice Mariam evolved with it showing incredible resilience, flexibility, and leadership among her peers. She became the bar from which others in her field were measured and the chief training instructor for the new ones coming in. Medical Practices are generally measured by the patient experience and the success of the treatment received. The patient experience is where Mariam excelled with her caring, compassion, and efficiency from the front door, to the exam room, to the checkout desk. Mariam Bailey is part of the OrthoGeorgia foundation from which it grows and we along with many patients will miss her greatly.
